Anytime I see "bleeding heart" I know what follows after is complete bullshit.
- 100% agree with you. That statement is as shallow as Musk saying empathy is weakness. Only people with agendas say things like this.

He’s a hypocrite. He’s using provincial power to stomp all over what cities have implemented, just because he doesn’t like those decisions.

"Bleeding heart" for telling him that he can't just do whatever the hell he wants?
There's a lot of quotes from Ford in the article that sound far too Trump-ish.
Pay judges to quit? Elect judges (regardless of qualifications)? Hold judges "accountable" to the politicians whims? Override other levels of governments when they make decisions in their jurisdiction that you don't happen to like?

- Ontario hates themselves thats why. Ontarians convinced themselves all their problems were Trudeau's fault without considering that half their issues are provincial jurisdiction.

  Yup, people in Ontario voted for Ford because they did not want to support Trudeau. Most did not even realize the difference between a provincial and federal government.

  Though at least IMO, I do think the liberals at this moment in Ontario don't have a "strong" candidate to lead the provincial party. But that does not mean you local riding candidate/representative has no experience.

  Because when Trump came into power this time around he started making a bunch of "no 51st state" hats, and the people love that support him love themselves a hat and didn't want to become a part of America, so he was the clear choice.
  It didn't help that the provincial Liberals were trying to bring in Crombie (Ford Lite) and the NDP couldn't campaign themselves out of a wet bag. It was another abysmal turnout (sub 50%, I think it was 45%) and it seemed to be because he had a anti-Trump narrative at the time.
  Everyone that votes for him seems to conveniently forget how he went quiet after his Maralago visit and disappeared back to his cottage until the election took place. They forget the period where he stopped posturing and disappeared.

On Wednesday, Ford dismissed the idea of judicial independence and denounced judges who he sees as not tough enough on crime.
"You know something, that's a joke as far as I'm concerned," he said. "There's no judge appointed anywhere in this country, anywhere in the United States, anywhere in the world, that's not a political appointment. Simple as that. You think these judges just come out of the blue?
Then why do you sound so surprised/angry that these judges, who were appointed by another party, don't just vibe with everything you do? Obviously, you just want to be able to move around/fire these judges so they're not inconvenient for you. That's despotism.

"Last time I checked there hasn't been any judges elected. Maybe that's the problem — we should do what the U.S. does," Ford said at a news conference announcing proposed changes to bail reform. "Let's start electing our judges, holding them accountable, and that's my rant for the day, because I've just had it."
Remember when he disavowed Trump a couple of months ago? I can hear this in Trump's "UneLEctED JuDGeS!!" voice.

I just had a heart attack thinking Henry Ford was alive.

If the bail system is broken, part of the reason is that we don't have enough facilities to house individuals accused of violent crimes who are awaiting trial. There are two ways to fix this: clear the backlog by appointing more judges, thus freeing up some space, or build more jails.
The current Premier hasn't made a real attempt to do either. He's just whining because he's butt-hurt that people don't agree with him about the value of bike lanes.
(No, I didn't vote for him. Yes, I did vote in the recent provincial election.)

I think it's funny how one of the core symbols of Christian love has become an insult to those most likely proclaiming the importance of that "heritage".
