Looks good, browsed through their creators and some of their content looks interesting, will definitely check out later. Seems like the only big difference is that they are not American, guess that is enough though.

Can I blog there without putting up a paywall? (I could still accept donations if they really need that, not that I would expect many ¯(ツ)_/¯)

There's also Liberapay, based in France, which takes no cut of a subscription (they rely on donations).

There is also the abiltity to create a substack like wordpress website if you want that.
