A deep pocket of incentive dollars has landed Michigan multi-billion dollar projects from Ford and General Motors.
Our tax dollars at work.
On one hand, I get it. Michigan is falling behind in some areas, and attracting the next type of business is all the more important since we can't just rely on auto manufacturers to keep us afloat.
But on the other hand, am I the only one irritated that my tax dollars are basically being handed out to the rich so that they can exploit/ruin more of our natural resources? I'd love to see more of this money going to small startups and less to China-backed billion-dollar companies pitting states against each other in a race to the bottom.
With Intel in Ohio I'd like to see other major chip companies move to Michigan. So far we have mostly sales offices, but then we have larger investments like Hemlock, SK Siltron, KLA, etc. Those are the kind of jobs I'd like to see more of. If Ohio can do it... We can too.
