German "economics" newspaper tries to bash Buy from EU by talking about workers losing their jobs

i saw that, what a ridiculous set of arguments. You can't boycott fast food restaurants otherwise all these wonderful jobs at minimum wage will disappear!

I don't want to be downvoted, but it is true people currently working for US businesses (think factories and marketing departments) will lose their jobs if a lot of people stop buying their products.
At the same time, if instead people buy similar european products and these eu companies grow they will need more people.
It is quite possible these expanding eu companies are hiring before the us companies are firing, which would increase demand for these people who could lose their job. In turn, these people could ask a higher price for their service and earn a better wage.
Also, eu companies tend to treat their workers better so even if they don't get better pay them switching jobs could give them better circumstances.
Those workers aren't really in trouble.

  If I e.g. do not buy a car (because I live in a walkable European city) that will likely lead to lost jobs in the car industry (as I am sure the lobbyists for that industry will point out publicly loudly and often) but it is not as if that money I would have spent on a car isn't spent on other things I wouldn't have been able to buy if I had to spend money on a car. So there are no job losses, just a redistribution of jobs between the industries on which I choose to spend my money.
  
  No job losses isn't the same as nobody loses their job tho. Don't really disagree with you but the 'redistribution of jobs' can be quite unpleasant if it is you switching jobs. But end of the day, you are right, there should be another job waiting for them.

Meh. If I buy from a german alternative the delivery centers of them will need to grow and the amazon workers will then go there.

The indignation is great, the reflex is too human: The US government is covering our economy with tariffs? Okay, then we don't like their economy anymore.
Bruh, nobody is moved to action by tariffs except the wealthy. Normal people see a fascist running amok, and the sane, the moral thing to do is fight them. That's the human reflex that should be celebrated.

If people loose their jobs due to society being fed up with certain companies then it's bad, it would be praiseworthy though if the same companies fired people due to automation or outsourcing to India. "Economics" media is a codeword for bootlicking propaganda.
