If its not that, it sounds like something straight outta star trek. Sometimes I'll be reading some technical things from Intel or Cisco or something and it'll be like "With our new Hyper-Ribbon-Flex-Optical-InterConnect"

I think since everything is using slightly modularised software that integrates each other you end up being overwhelmed by so many names.
Like reddit is just reddit. But to use the lemmyverse you have “fediverse”, “activitypub”, then “lemmy”, “mbin”, “piefed”, (Not to mention all the instances and frontends) etc etc
