  • I've had the Herman Miller Embody for 4 years now and I love it. I tried their Mirra 2 and also had a Steelcase at work, but I find the Embody much more comfortable.

    • Thank you. HM looks nice, but the prices are tough 😅

      • Yeah it's definitely a splurge, but if you sit at your desk for a long time it's worth it. Check used markets, the chairs are built well and last a long time. I got mine used.

  • I got a Steelcase Leap v2 a few years ago; they had a massive sale around christmas and new years, dropped to price to about 1K (with most/all of the add ons) new directly from them.

I like it, its reasonably comfortable (i wouldnt conaider it "plush"), but it is a bit on the noisy side for a chair. The recline return force at any strength makes noise, and the hydraulics are/were squeaky out of the box (I've heard lithium grease is recommended).

I kinda want to try a Herman Miller Embody; i have an Aeron at work and the sides of the mesh seat kinda dig into my thighs, and sitting at all cross legged isn't comfortable.

  • I recommend elderly day chairs. They're a bit dull looking but they're solid built, have good wheels and are adjustable. There's also plenty second hand.
