It’s simply amazing that the US has such a profound carve out in its foreign policy for this one little cruel nation. They attacked a US Navy ship and we were cool with that. They stole nuclear material from us, and we were cool with that.

"Must" in a headline means "won't."
What? Israel's nuke program deters all of its hostile neighbors, who are actual far right dictatorships, from trying to roll through it and actually commit another Holocaust.
This represents a pretty fundamental misunderstanding of the geopolitics of the Middle East.
Israel is the country currently committing genocide against the Palestinians, attacking and trying to gain new territory in Syria, breaking ceasefire agreements, carrying out targeted murders of innocent children, journalists, and frankly anyone they feel like killing, and in general just acting like a country of vicious amoral killers.
And in case you’re worried about my tone or personal experience, I am a Jewish descendant of Holocaust survivors, with family who are Israeli, and with whom I will never speak again. Israel is the bad actor here, and unfortunately it’s not just the government and the army, but most of the general population that supports the genocide.
Nukes are not the problem, nor are they the solution or even an effective deterrent. And while Israel’s neighbors are by no means good global citizens, it’s Israel and its murderous, racist, and genocidal rage that are the problem.
Two bad things can be true at the same time.
Israel is currently engaged in ethnic cleansings in Gaza and the West Bank.
True.
Many of Israel's neighbours would "drive the Jews into the sea" if they ever got the chance.
Also true.
The answer to genocide is not inviting more genocide.
And yes, nukes are effective as a deterrent. Look at how reluctant the West is to support Ukraine against a genocidal invasion because of Russia's repeated nuclear threats. There's no way any country is going to give up its nuclear weapons after Ukraine showed just how little security guarantees from the great powers are actually worth.
Lol they've been effective so far. Tehran knows what will happen if it processes fissile material into a weapon. You have misunderstood.
What if your calculous is wrong, your media sources tainted by anti American propaganda, and there's not actually a genocide occuring? What if is there are sad but nonetheless valid explanations for the massive civilian death tolls?
Plenty of people including virtually the entire intelligence and diplomatic corps of the western world, along with virtually everyone in Washington DC, disagrees with you.
I'm not saying that other middle eastern countries are better, but you are delusional if you think that israel isn't a far right near-dictatorship that is committing a genocide that is only barely stopped by the world and the left people in Israel.
And north koreas nuke program deters it's hostile neighbor from trying to roll through it.
A lot of countries face threats, that doesnt mean we should give them nukes.
Um. North Korea doesn't have hostile neighbors. They are bordered by South Korea, China, and Russia.
South Korea is in a strictly defensive posture. Russia is more or less an ally. And China is North Korea's largest trade partner.
Interestingly, North Korea was one of the largest financiers contributors to the tunnels in Gaza. Hmm, wonder why that is.
