SAP is now Europe’s most valuable company For ordinary consumers, SAP software plays a minor role. For the economy, however, it plays a major role: stock market investors are well aware of this.

Yup, their software is infamous.

Remember when Lidl tried migration to it and cancelled it after they sank 500 million euros over 7 years because "project goals couldn't be reached" and they used their own custom solution?

It's not because they lack IT expertise. In fact, they're now also a cloud provider.

If I were to be mean, I'd call SAP a grift to upsell consulting on top of an already expensive product to lure you into a sunk cost fallacy while "nobody has ever been fired for buying SAP".
