Air Canada to Cut US-Bound Flights in March; WestJet Could Follow
A low Canadian dollar and the ongoing tariff dispute between Canada and the U.S. is having a major effect on Canadian airlines.
I have a US transit soon -- flying to South America -- hoping that this won't affect me. But I guess plan B should be in the making...
I doubt it's for moral or political reasons on the airlines part; but it's a good sign that less Canadians are travelling to and spending their money in the US.
That would be indicator of a massive wave of US bound flight cancellations.
The expected worsening exchange rate compounds the falling demand also.
Maybe Canadian airlines aren't willing to trust the new, stripped-to-the-bones FAA. Europe should do the same.
