Super Mario 3D World 2 Player Local Coop: your thoughts?
Hey y'all, we are soon wrapping up 2 player coop of Adventure Pals - super fun game! - and are looking for our next coop platformer. Been looking at Super Mario 3D World as it looks like it should scratch the itch.
Mario 3d world is my favorite Mario game since Mario 3, it baffles my brain why Nintendo didn't make another game in this style. I guess they made 3d land for the 3ds as well, but still.
super mario wonder looks almost like it's in the spirit as a successor - but I say that without playing either. But hopefully more Mario 3D platformers are in works!
Would definitely recommend, it's proper co-op (in the sense of both players having the same game experience, not the sense of needing to actually cooperate). I'm terrible at platformers so I find it challenging, an actually competent player would probably find it generally easy.
I would also highly recommend Rayman Legends, if you don't mind 2D platformer, a very good game. And not much difficult in co-op, as if one player "dies" they start floating in a bubble and other player can touch them to bring them back to life.
Some of the levels are a bit difficult, but overall a very fun game.
@ren Super Mario 3D World is a VERY well-designed and fun platformer and a great one to play with a second player. In fact, I'd recommend that two players be the maximum; any more than that, and the game ends up a bit more chaotic than you'd want. π
4-player SM3DW is one of my all-time favourite gaming experiences. The game is way more chaotic than it has any right to be and it's entirely because of that stupid crown. People will spend every life attempting to sabotage someone to get that meaningless cosmetic and I live for that energy.
@ren It's a fun game. I've played with friends my own age as well as my niece & nephew co-op and we all had fun. Though I shudder to think how Champion's Road would go.
As the others said, very good game that will definitely be a fun time in co op. 100% the game is no joke though, but not required if you prefer to keep it more casual.
