PSA - Broken title suggestions and link preview thumbnails

Hello again,

Some unfortunate news to pass along this time. As the title implies WG is suffering from an issue that has broken automatic title lookups/suggestions and preview thumbnails for posts. This coincided with our update to Lemmy 19.9. After confirming things were working correctly with our host we are now investigating the issue further. Our host believes it may be a bug with the latest Lemmy buiild but since this was a security update it would be unwise to roll back to 19.8.

I'll try to keep this post updated with anything new as more information is available. Apologies for the inconvenience.

  • Update to this. Something has changed with the way lemmy handles links in the newest version. For now at least if you drop the ?u from the end of Tidal links they will go back to working like they should on Lemmy, but it breaks the service Tidal uses to suggest other services for the same song.

    I'll continue to look into it to see what we can do about fixing it, or maybe open a bug report for it.
