Maybe it's just my circle, but I haven't seen this kind of behaviour or talk outside of TV shows from the 1980s and Facebook posts from the elderly. Is it still a thing?
One of my in-laws has a maybe 80-100sq ft room off the basement with guns in a safe and porn on the wall.

Definitely still common in rural areas. I was hoping it was a generational thing, but it's been passed down to the zoomers having kids out here.
I think pornography being able to be stored and accessed digitally has changed the goon cave of today to be much more discreet.
I encounter the same vibes from people sometimes so I wouldn't at all be shocked if it was still a thing, but it feels like it's much less of a thing these days
