!sillydrawingrequests@sopuli.xyz got more activity last week, which is really cool!
!buyeuropean@feddit.uk had someone post a question and immidiately got plenty of answers. Awesome to see that.
What I struggle a bit with is the consistent 2 downvotes and sometimes more on seemingly completely innocent posts? Because when a community is small this affects visibility in my understanding? The first votes are often the two downvotes.
I had a theory that some app "hides" posts on downvote and guessed that people are scrolling "all" and downvoting as they go through the posts.

You can use tesseract.dubvee.org/ to view downvotes. If someone downvotes all of your content without commenting, I would just ban them
Thanks Blaze, I remember that votes are not actually anonymous in threadiverse but was too lazy to figure out a way to check them. I'll check out tesseract and try to figure out whether these are random downvotes or is someone just being a dick.
I honestly don't care about downvotes but it does seem to affect visibility in some sorted feeds like "Hot" no?

How does this work?! I tried it but didn't see names. Is this a mod only feature?
!superbowl@lemmy.world was great yesterday. Lots of content from other posters. Everyone had a good time and nobody complaining about the very light US sport theme this year as opposed to last year. Love to see it.
Got another comment from someone that just checks in to Lemmy periodically and they said they were happy to see the community still doing so well and they're glad it's here to be a positive space during unpleasant times. I always like hearing what I do is having a positive impact.
That community is killing it! Always a bright spot ij my day!
Always happy to hear it!
Well done!
!lego@lemm.ee is quite a success, it's probably going to be my main focus for this week
!scp@lemmy.world, !lovecraft_mythos@lemmy.world, !cosmichorror@lemm.ee are doing well.
https://lemmy.world/c/horrorlit, !godzilla@lemmy.world and !analog_horror_footage@lemmy.world are a little niche but not awful.
!creepypasta@lemmy.world is so so.
Anyone interested to become a moderator is more than welcome.
Feel free to promote them all on !communitypromo@lemmy.ca ! Maybe something like "Horror communities"?
good idea 👍
Love the cosmic horror one — thanks for that!
Happy to have @Yingwu@lemmy.dbzer0.com posting on !imaginary@reddthat.com too
Thanks for the encouragement!
On that topic, I'm going to stop posting the pokemon art to !pokemon@lemm.ee, and consolidate it with !imaginary@reddthat.com
!movies@lemm.ee and !showsandmovies@lemm.ee still good.
!movies@lemmy.world is now basically just one person posting.
I've requested !moviesandtv@lemm.ee to the lemm.ee admin, let's see how it goes.
Fragmentation kills the fediverse.
I am well aware, that's why I'm trying to consolidate all the movies discussions on one community.
Can you give a quick rundown of what all the various movie/tv communities are for? I'd like to post stuff there, but I feel so lost as there's movies, animation, the anime communities, movies and tv, individual show communities, etc. It feels overwhelming where the best place to post something is. Many times I've just watched something and say, hey I Just watched X, this is what I thought. Have you seen it too and what did you think?
Most of the posts on many of the communities look like industry news, and the names are all very similar I don't remember which ones I've looked at or not.
Of course! The main ones are
For the other ones
There are specific shows communities too, they are listed on the pinned post of !showsandmovies@lemm.ee
Edit: and then there is !animation@lemm.ee, for animation. But you can post those on !movies@lemm.ee as well, it's fine.
just made a new post in the schizophrenia community. !schizophrenia@lemmy.ca
Feel free to promote the community itself on !communitypromo@lemmy.ca !
Thanks, I will make a post there!
To be nicely thematic, shouldn't there be one schizophrenia comm per instance?
I made the community on my home instance but feel free to make a new one on your instance too!
