  • Just let those relationships die? I don't mean if you're not someone's precious one and only to let them go, but if they're giving you the impression that you're a "backup," just stop starting the conversation.

    It may not feel good at first, but I think it's a step in valuing yourself and your time. I did that and I lost every high school and college friend because I stopped being the one to ask them to hang out, play games, etc. I stopped watching the invites "miss" me and what have you. I realized I was giving much more thought about people who didn't remember I existed.

    Being alone is not the worse thing. Being alone with a room full of "friends" is much worse (imo)
