Final Fantasy X is a lot prettier than I remember.
The early 2000's like ethereal watery aesthetic is such a vibe
and Tidus' outfit is so loud I love it, peak Tetsuya Nomura.Also I got the game to run full speed on my potato in PCSX2, a pro-tip enable multi threading and direct 3D 11 in the emulation and graphics options.

There were like a dozen attempts by the FFXIV team to put it in the mmo and it could never reach the quality bar Yoshida needs. Not sure if it's ever made it in since though as I've not touched it in a while
Hard disagree. Blitzball is one of the worst mini games ever put in a JRPG.

But yeah the style of this game wasn't bad. I feel like almost the entire world was in an overcast eternal sunset which felt mildly depressing to me but contrasted nicely with the incredibly positive over-acting way everyone puts on a brave face because of the circumstances. The whole group dynamic reminds me a lot of the way groups of people deal with terminal illness.

I consider FFX the best crafted and written final fantasy. Its so thematically consistent, has an amazing OST, pretty good characters and only one weird plot jump that I can think of (Underneath temple -> Desert area teleportation). Such a great game, and definitely play it on pcsx2, rather than the stupid HD version which sucks horribly.

The dead need guidance. Filled with grief over their own death, they refuse to face their fate. They yearn to live on, and resent those still alive. You see, they envy the living. And in time, that envy turns to anger, even hate. Should these souls remain in Spira, they become fiends that prey on the living. Sad, isn't it? The sending takes them to the Farplane, where they may rest in peace.
Simple stuff, almost boilerplate, but this bit really stuck with me for some reason.
Also, I'm a big turn-based combat fan, and this is one of the all-time greats
Everything was designed to fit within Spira. Pyreflies made everything really pretty and because of them, there was some decent world building.
I had some complaints in another thread, but most of my complaints are just niche questions like about the food people ate and if there were animals besides fiends and monkeys.
