Was talking about FFXI earlier today. Here's my chubby Galka monk.
With fresh new level 36 gear and by some PS2 grass. MGS 3 had better looking grass but FFXI is still pretty.

I am absurdly setup on horizonxi if anyone ever goes there and needs help
Oh yeah I remember you offering to help me out if I ever gave Horizon a try! So far I'm enjoying CatsEye, I finally got settled in with a race and job I like (Galka, rotating mnk/war/paladin/whm) and the QOL features on this server is amazing. If I ever decide to try out classic XI I'll take you up on that.
It's definitely a big undertaking starting on an established classic server without any help, beyond just how much slower progression is, but I've got a few classes leveled to 75 and can solo people through a lot of content, as well as a number of ways to generate gil. Can't necessarily suggest it to everyone given the kind of time sink it is. I'm a sucker for the slow progression old-school stuff since I started playing MMOs back in pre-luclin everquest
got the dapper clothes and feather on hat
You should see the fancier high level gear, this is only trashy free stuff.
A few years ago I got a couple of characters to the mid 50's on Nasomi. I petered out after finding my next time sink (an exquisitely overcomplicated minecraft mod) and the server population dwindled hard. Still nostalgic for it. Not even sure I could remember the passwords at this point...
Yeah HorizonXI took over Nasomi's spot.
This game still alive?
It is! My server gets about 600 people at peak time.
