Paisa-app and Cashew are they actually open source?

I was using paisa-app for over an year now, I had access source code in the github. But suddenly one day the source code vasnishes and the app is no longer present in f-driod and only in play store.

Plus now there are pro-freatures with subscription fees and thats the same thing for Cashew.

Am I missing something or these apps are no longer open-source?

Paisa was open source. The developer then removed it I guess. The repo you linked doesn't host the app. ~~The developer said it's used for reporting issues~~. Edit : The repo is private
Cashew is open source GPL licensed. But it uses Google libraries which I guess prevents it from being on f-droid. Last time I used Cashew, the premium features notifications could be ignored and the app could be used completely for free, I'm unsure if that was changed though.
I found another app but it's not on f-droid, you'll have to use Obtainium - Monekin

To be honest I can't give any answer, but I tried Paisa and it felt sketchy, so I decided to use GNUCash.

I'm gonna be honest Paisa was under agpl 3 and it explicitly states you can't just change the license.
If my non-lawyer interpration is correct.

All rights granted under this License are granted for the term of copyright on the Program, and are irrevocable provided the stated conditions are met. This License explicitly affirms your unlimited permission to run the unmodified Program. The output from running a covered work is covered by this License only if the output, given its content, constitutes a covered work. This License acknowledges your rights of fair use or other equivalent, as provided by copyright law.
But then again maybe I am misunderstanding that
- The license of a GPLv3 project can change moving forward provided all copyright holders agree to the change. The license cannot be changed for code that was already released. If the Paisa devs could get every contributor on-board, then it's fine. Alternatively, if they forced contributors to sign a CLA (Contributor License Agreement) which signs over the copyright to Paisa (most CLAs include copyright transfer), then that's basically free rein to rug pull shit whenever they feel like it.
  Fuck CLAs by the way. Try to avoid contributing to projects on your free time that force you to sign one. If you're contributing on behalf of a company, it's likely that your legal team will take umbrage at you signing a CLA, but it's not like you'll own the copyright to your work anyways, so it's less of an issue there.
  Support projects that have you sign a DCO (Developer Certificate of Origin). The DCO protects the company or individual running the project without forcing developers to give up their rights.
