So no more circumcisions now?
- It looks like the actual language was precise enough to exclude circumcision... but that would have been hilarious.
  
  What's amazing about this is how targeted it is. They aren't actually concerned about protecting children from genital surgery (which isn't something anyone is doing on trans kids, anyway). The point is to write a narrative that makes them saviors and reasonable people monsters.

- Circumcision definitely alters an individual’s sexual organs to minimize their natural biological functions.

- That would be the one part of this I support. At least for medically unnecessary circumcisions.

The only thing more infuriating than Republicans being utterly incapable of understanding that NOBODY claims you can change your sex, is Republicans closing their eyes and covering their ears when everyone tells them that we're not claiming it.
They're blatantly putting words in our mouths at this point. Their ignorance is willful. It's either time we start fighting fire with fire, or someone needs to step up and start dishing out "Italian goodbyes".

It's hard enough for ADULTS to get GRS or T/E... On what fucking basis are they claiming children get these treatments?
- Trans woman to trans man: hey, I don't think you're using the extra parts of that second chromosome....let me just pluck pluck
- It's not even possible to change your sex. We don't have that sort of genetic engineering capability.
I wonder how you can spin this against oil companies pollution water and causing mutations in humans.
40% of all breast reduction surgeries are performed on men. Sorry, dudes! You're going to have to live with those tits your body made after getting cancer (or just a slightly abnormal puberty).
- And cis women get them too, because giant breasts can play hell on your back. One of my wife's closest friends did it.
So this means they're committing to not slicing and dicing intersex babies genitals for them, forcing them into a false biological dichotomy?
Because it sounds like he just wrote an Executive Order that reads like it's trying to ban that.
Better include circumcision
When bullets are fired from a gun, that’s a chemical reaction, right? Does this mean no more school kids will get shot as well?
How are children legally defined in the US?
- Age 17 and below.
  Edit: oh but wow I just read the order and it defines child as anyone under 19. I'm surprised they chose to just add a year of childhood in this instance. That is not typical.
  You are usually considered an adult at age 18 and granted a degree of autonomy (and the right to vote). Notable exceptions being controlled substances like alcohol and nicotine that require you to be 21.
  
  That's a little strange that you are legally a child until so late in life.
  Other countries have definitions like you are a youth at 14 to 16 and you have a different set of rights and responsibilities than a child.
The executive order said the United States will not “fund, sponsor, promote, assist, or support the so-called ‘transition’ of a child from one sex to another.”
Had it been prior to this?
So no surgeries at all then?

Well I mean given Trump's skin situation, maybe it's about that.
Nah, he's just an asshole who thinks trans people are icky and wants to make it their problem.
