Any Tokaido players?

It's a fun little game where you play as a tourist in Japan. You score points by completing scenery sets, collecting food and souvenirs, things of that nature.

I particularly like how it doesn't pit people against each other but still leaves room for intricacies and competitiveness anyways. The culture showcase and overall design is really nice as well.

  • One of my absolute favourite games. I love the elegance of the rules and the feel of the whole game

  • It is one of my top games. I love the mechanic for turn order, and the meals at the inns. I have the anniversary edition, as well as the miniatures for it.

Typically we do not play with the expansion, it felt like we were getting far too many points.

  • I played it once at my friend's house and it was a blast! Very chill setting, but as you said, it has some depth in how you choose to approach the game, especially because the players are competing for the same resources, so you need to change your game plan on the fly as the situation evolves. I really liked it.

I've wanted to buy it for a while but I've never seen a copy in the wild.
