So back in 2016 when Bernie got shafted, and Dems stupid enough to not make him the VP, my response was that the democratic party needed to go twice as far to the left as the reps had gone right. As time goes on I'm convinced that that was the correct strategy. Offer them the narrative that billionaires are screwing us. we all deserve better. we deserve health care. we deserve to have comfortable and happy retirements starting at 50. And in the time frame from the early 20s to our '50s we should be able to earn more than enough to have a house, a happy life, and save up for our retirement.
If people have children they deserve government subsidies because those children are going to contribute to the country, and without them we would have no future.
Every American deserves to be fed and housed. Because we are the greatest country. The only thing stopping us is the greed of the ruling class of the billionaires.
We're going to regulate social media like broadcast media. We will fine and tax these parasites into submission. They will provide a service that is valuable to the American people or they will cease to exist.
By law reverse the Dodd-Frank ruling and make it so that anyone accepting donations from a foreign nation is committing an act of treason, and that all who aided in abetted the transaction in any way shape or form are also guilty.
Give the right to vote in a presidential election to the people of Washington DC.
Leave all medical decisions up to patients and their physicians and out of the hands of government.
Ban for profit entities from running medical institutions or from administrating insurance companies.
We will make a clear and transparent path to citizenship for all immigrants that pass screenings and meet requirements. This path will be discussed with and built in part with business leaders and local governments to ensure that it benefits everyone.
That is how the Democrats could have galvanized and won and I think the shame is that they don't want to give up the money that's going to come along with that.
Also don't forget to enfranchise Puerto Rico along with DC.

This line doesn't actually appear in the article, so I couldn't find what sort of braindead analysis decided an election where a moderate candidate lost on 100% pure grade bipartisan moderation meant that progressives were diminished.

Ohhh, did the author think these people only became national figures by opposing Trump? Like... What? If that's the case, Warren's still out there spitting fire. It didn't make the moderates then accept her as an ideological leader 8 years ago though, so why would you expect it now.
Diminished meaning "the centrists pushed them out and now plan to roll over for fascism"
They still hate the progressives more than they do the fascists.
They dont need time they need to ditch billionaires but they'd rather launder money to 'strategists' to try and come up with a way to win that doesn't involve the ending of corporate bribes. They will cobble some data together to fool themselves, stay beholden to big monied interests and lose again because of it. You can't learn a lesson you're being handsomely paid to not learn.

How about any guiding principle?? What the fuck are the core principles of the democrats? What will they stand firm on? Seems like "support for Israel's genocide" is the only nonnegotiable.
