im surprised DE has a fanbase in China , i always thought it was only popular in the west

I've started a game like 3 times and then stopped playing after a hour.
- If you're not hooked by empathising with a postbox then idk where you go from there
  
  I think the farthest I've gotten was Kim showing up and heckling me for not looking at the body hanging in the back of the hotel?
- Similar experience here but I played a few more hours than that and somehow became both a feminist and a communist in the game without really trying

- Yeah the first couple days of struggle turn off a lot of players early (including me). You just have to bear w it
- I started it up once, got through three novel's worth of text before I even made it down the stairs, and then shut it off because it was either that or put a bat through my screen.

- I stopped and started it a couple times myself. It's easy to get kinda stuck just wandering around. But I still think it's an amazing game and it's definitely worth playing and finishing imo.

remember to take breaks, because when this game sucks you in, in sucks you in for good!
- I've played for 18hs straight a few times and I fried my brain. Afterwards I was expecting a dialogue menu when talking to real people. I don't blame the game for being so good, it's my fault for playing sick and high.

I never finished it. People tell me losing dice checks is fun but it's not for me. Brings out my inner save scum. Would rather the system was deterministic.

Btw it’s really cheap on gog right now if anyone else hasn’t played it

i feel like when i finally start reading some physical books again i'll be ready to tackle this game. kind of a reward

I think I got to the end of Day 3 before my HDD died and my save with it. I still havent gone back to it since.

Has anyone here played all the game sober? (Not you but the character I mean!) Care to share their experience?
- I’ve only ever played the game on a sober run, Harry seemed to spend most of the game suffering from the cumulative hangover of five back to back benders and I couldn’t imagine wanting to make that worse .
  
  ty for censoring that because it's basically the only effect of playing without chemical enhancements
- There’s a smidge of recognition at the end if you do it sober, but not a ton of commentary throughout iirc
  
  Cool. I still have to play this game as a communist, and I wanted to make a character who is strictly anti intoxicating substances, ultra nerdy, anti idealism and anti authority. So, low on skills like "authority", "espirit de corps", "inland empire", "shivers", and of course "electrochemistry".
  About his signature skill, I was thinking about "rethoric" for this case. What do you all think?
- I do not remember playing this game sober, either me or the character. I did recycle a lot of bottles though
- I have only ever played the game sober. Some people say it doesn't reward you for this, but as a person who has defeated addiction, it is the absolute most accurate way to portray it. Your reward for sobriety is sobriety.

It is a life changing experience, you will not regret it.
