Germany’s federal prosecutor has charged an Iraqi couple with enslavement, torture and war crimes, alleging they kept two young Yazidi girls as slaves and sexually and physically abused them

The were members of the Islamic State group in Iraq and Syria between October 2015 and December 2017, the prosecutor said in a statement. They allegedly kept a 5-year-old Yazidi girl as a slave starting in late 2015, and a 12-year-old from October 2017.

People may disagree with me, but in these cases where someone not only keeps child slaves but sexually and physically abused them should be doxxed and paraded through town. I know Germany has privacy laws against this and in the vast majority of cases this is a good thing. But in scenarios like this, there should be exceptions. These scumbags should be known by everyone and their faces should be shown everywhere.
- Yup, as long as they are certain they did it I couldn't agree more, and can't think of any real downsides. Just gotta be careful with all the fascists these days trying to find excuses to persecute innocent people that disagree with them politically - being caught with the two children is more than enough proof in this case.
  
  It is impossible to be 100% certain that someone commited a crime; in order to be found legally guilty in many countries, the standard is "beyond a reasonable doubt" and not "zero doubt."
  I am against this idea for the same reason as I am against the death penalty in the US, along with the reason you already stated in your comment (Red Scare in the US, gulags in the USSR, China, North Korea, etc.). 4% of people on death row in the United States are innocent.
  Also let's be real, if the person who commited the crime was extremely rich, then they wouldn't be paraded around shit.
  I definitely understand the want to bring back tarring and feathering or public gallows, but there's a reason society moved on from those ideas; too much mob mentality in those situations, and there isn't a way to 100% guarantee that the person being punished is a criminal. Now granted, it's not like convicted criminals are treated well today outside of very specific cases like in Norway.
- Maybe we should bring back public floggings for certain cases, I feel like a certain level of societal pressure on people to not be awful is a good thing
