The People Cheering the UnitedHealthcare CEO Shooting
A cold-blooded murder has become, to many, an opportunity to vent.
Those who make peaceful protest impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.
Also, the media cheered the killing of terrorists. Get off your hypocritical high fucking horse. Clearly there is a line where killing is deemed acceptable.

I’m not ashamed to say it: more of this. Make the 1% afraid.
That's a disgusting attitude.
Not as disgusting as becoming fabulously wealthy by directly shortening the lifespans and quality of life of tens of thousands of your fellow humans.
This man killed thousands by denying their claims. Only those who haven't had to interact with the U. S. healthcare industry should be surprised. He is another victim of his decisions.
He is another victim of his decisions.
This definitely gave me "Well, well, well, if it isn't the consequences of my own actions" vibes too.
People haven't celebrated this much since Thatcher died.
Osama and Saddam, others too
But they have not done this since her in Western world, but even then it was the Irish and they really hit UK properly to where their elites were forced to tell UK government to settle a deal.
Idk, friends and I went out for beers when Kissinger finally croaked.
Well, yeah, he was a ghoul that profited from the suffering and death of many. He deserved something, and I find his death acceptable. I think the world is better without him in it.
There are a lot more ghouls I wouldn't mind seeing shot dead, too. Dragons hoarding wealth. Making the world a little shittier so they can enrich themselves a little more.
1 down, many more to go
I love how this turned out to be the event that united Americans across pretty much all demographics.
Yep. This is the third or fourth such event that I can think of in my lifetime. (not specifically related to healthcare) Every time I think "hey maybe that means something will change."
So far, it either causes no change, or things get worse.
I've got my fingers crossed on this one.
Until there is some movement on our healthcare system, I will shed no tears for this guy, nor any similar events that occur in the future.
When you say “all demographics”, are you including rich and poor? If so, that’s really interesting.
I'm sure to varying extents. I bet the gun industry CEOs are supportive.
Seems like it's pretty much all of the working class, including the labour aristocracy.
Diane, an oncology doctor, says her field has also suffered.
“UnitedHealth Group in particular and Optum, which is their pharmacy benefit manager, make their money by profiteering off sick people, and we have a health-care system that is perfectly constructed to create great wealth and power in large corporations and is increasingly badly constructed to actually provide health care to patients,” she says. “The frustration from patients, from their caregivers, from the people who love them, from doctors, nurses, everybody in the health-care fields is just so huge right now. I’m saddened but not surprised at this event.”
Why the fuck should I care if some asshole got shot if I have to watch my loved ones slowly die of cancer.
Dude got off lucky for what most ppl want to do to him.
More like why should I care about this particular asshole? People get murdered for revenge all the time and most don't even get a headline.
Maybe he didn't get a headline because CEOs are privileged and important. Maybe he got one because the public reaction was sure to generate a shit ton of ad clicks.
Perfectly natural and healthy reaction. I have a daughter who survived a brain tumor, and if we hadn't had good insurance I'm sure I would be reacting the same way. The hypocrites are the people acting like they're above the satisfaction of vicarious violence and are just appreciating in a detached intellectual way that a rich insurance CEO received justice for his crimes against humanity.
One wonders about how many of the people complaining about medical insurance are trump supporters who really truly believe that trump will fix all this. Mindboggling.
