Psyching myself up to clean the house for the inspection on Wednesday.
Ughhhhhh UGHHHHHH I don't wanttt tooooo but if I don't do it today I know I'll be rushing around tomorrow doing it. Which is good motivation but also not how I want to spend my Tuesday. We've done the spare room, but I still need to vaccum and do the bathroom, and stove top. Tidy up a bit.
But I'm not moving the cat's boxes. They can walk around them, he lives here too dammit
Edit: in other news, all 9 of my assessments this term have been marked now - and I passed!! Now I don't have to stress until Feb! Yay!

- Yes. If I trusted the purchase point to store it correctly before purchase. I know my fridge keeps it's cool properly, but swoopermarkets are another thing again. The whole point of pate is to put a highly perishable food into a format that does keep a bit longer. Refer liverwurst. And potted shrimp. And tarasamalata (I think I've spelled that understandably, if not correctly).

Have to head down the bellarine tm. Bit of an issue cause the ol' boy can't cook. Huge mistake by that generations' parents not to teach the dudes how to, even the basics. A few of his buds can and very well, but honestly all that old school gender role shit can get in the bin with this (mums) problem. I know cooking isn't for everyone but fark me that'd be really handy right now. At least have a go at it.

- Light and easy are well received by some of my older clients. They have seniors meals available. Might be worth it just for the peace of mind that there is food available if they want it. Or Ranahans do texture modified meals.

- My dad would have been a decade or 2 older than yours I reckon, and I remember mum being in hospital when we were kids. All he could cook was scrambled eggs, so we ate that for every meal but breakfast, for 3 days

Life sucks to the point of meaninglessness sometimes but I want to take great care of Melbcat and grow heaps of healthy food for people that can eat it.

Nearly everyone was on leave today and there's a huge pile of due-todays and overdues, AND I got lobbed a site inspection from someone who decided to work tomorrow instead of today last minute. Proud that I got through a pretty good chunk of it without panicking. It helped that the only other person in today is very chill and calm. Though they were besieged by tech issues.
About to return home to The Furnace and wfh a bit more so everything is done and ready to be checked tomorrow am. Grateful to past self for getting pizza on special for an easy meal tonight
E: annoyed however that psych practice didn't tell me the 2nd referral hadn't come through despite my doing days in advance. And they said it wasn't their responsibility, well whose is it because I don't have a spare $200 out of pocket to casually afford like that. Also, it looks like our bins have not been collected. Possibly because there's a parking spot right out front. I suspect they haven't been collected for weeks, which explains why they're overflowing. I'm gonna have to ring the council to ask about another collection. Sigh

I had a MyGov message yesterday that my account was locked because of too many attempts to sign in. It wasn't me, so I assume it was a hacking attempt using data leaked from somewhere else. I was able to unlock the account and discovered there is a setting that stops you email or phone being an option for the username, so they shouldn't be able to try again.
- I didn't even know that was an option. Maybe my mygov account is so old I created it when you could only use a random string of numbers they assigned you. I guess that's the on upside to an inscrutable, completely unrelated username
  
  That's the username I use, but the email is in the settings as an alternative option. I presume someone had a list and was trying all my known passwords with the email - it wouldn't get them in (I use unique random passwords for everything of any importance) but trying over and over gets me locked out. It might be worth checking your settings to see if it is enabled.

- I had that recently too a couple of weeks ago and it locked my account and I turned off being able to use my email as a login for it.
  Was a royal pain in the butt.
- I didn't even know you could get usernames, I've only ever signed in through email. Happen to know where I could find my username by chance?
  
  There's an option to have them email the username to you. I did it recently and it's all in the same area of mygov security settings. Worth it because if your mygov gets breached I've heard they force you to make a new one.

  My electric stove top only has two working burners, and if course the non-working ones are the two big ones (apparently minimum requirement is at least two, so I can't get the RE to fix it until another one goes).
  They installed fluffy wool carpet all throughout the appt, and I'm fighting carpet moths, but if I stay another 3 years it will have depreciated entirely lol
  But! They've only the raised the rent once, by $10 per week, in the four years I've been here. So I guess I can't complain 😂

Cause I was away last Monday, I booked in a pre-class catch-up with the teacher so I don't miss anything. It's a pretty cruisy unit, so I could've figured it out from tonight's class, but I don't want to get lost. That does mean I basically have an extra hour's worth of class, but oh well
Also, I have been freaked out about a dozen times checking my course progress and seeing that one of the assessments due today doesn't have the little checkmark to tell me I've finished it. I'm like "ah shit did I miss one", then click on it and I've already done it and passed
I logged a ticket, and I love their priority levels. One of them is "EXTREME! CRITICAL! EMERGENCY! I CAN NOT WORK UNTIL THIS IS FIXED!". Anyway, when they responded, they fixed it on the spot and even included smiley faces in their email. That's lovely. I like that. Not exactly sure what the issue was, but they sent me an email to say they could tell what was wrong from my screenshots, then 5 minutes later sent a follow up to say they fixed it
- They probably really appreciate someone who can debug and provide useful information!

As far as trees go the Myer one is pretty great. I thought it would be cute to give the toddler a job to do: handing out the baubles. Worked great for about three minute till he got annoyed that we were going too slow and started chucking them around the room and ripping the ones off the tree.

Kidcalhoon2's left ear piercing is constantly getting infected. Not their right ear, not once. Salt spray will clear it up, but then will be back in a month. Surgical steel and everything.... Could they get an allergic reaction just in one piercing?

- Maybe she sleeps on that side more often than not. Could help to change pillow case more often than normal. I don't have any real advice just a thought
- gold hoop sleeper, no studs, use alcohol , do not take earring off for a month or so as it just scratches the piercing open again, let it heal
  and don't touch or play with earring or lobe with hands
- Surgical steel is unlikely to be causing it, but could try switching it out to titanium jewellery instead.
  I wouldn't use gold personally, more biologically reactive. Avoid silver as well.
  Do they sleep on that side more often? It could be the heat and moisture and irritation from having that side of their head on the pillow. In which case having a pillow against their back while they sleep on the other side for a bit should help.
  Salt spray, sparingly, or saline (same shit).
  Try not to rotate it, or touch it,
  
  I hate to say this but a lot of jewellery marked hypoallergenic or nickel free or surgical steel or even precious metals are no such thing. So many fakes are coming out China and not just cheap ones either.
  Get a pair of earrings from a good jeweller that you can trust.
- Pretty unlikely to be allergic, but you could try gold or titanium. The pillowcase theory sounds probable. I've 13 piercings in my ears, usually only have trouble with them if I get sick and don't wash my hair enough.

- Nah I think its still fine. Tomato season has run late these last few years and pumpkins will still grow in late summer. Sprinkle them into soil now. Keep them moist this week and see what happens.

Can't wait to have the wisdom teeth taken out. One of the stupid idiots decided to grow dead sideways. Not slightly sideways, almost a straight horizontal angle directly into the next tooth. Usually it's okay, but every now and again evidently I do something it doesn't like and then it really hurts. Today was one of those days
For some reason, whenever I have any tooth pain, my immediate, subconscious, dare I say instinctual response is to grind that tooth. No clue why. It makes the pain much worse, but it helps for about half a second I guess
- This happened to my older brother, but not a wisdom tooth. We were told then that sideways teeth were more common than you'd think. Makes you wonder how people coped before proper dentistry. Feel for ya.

Had 2 parcels arrive at the facility last night. That was the first update after "shipping information approved by Australia Post". I checked it today at 10, as well as today at 2. Nothing. Assumed it'll come tomorrow. No. Just got a notification that they couldn't deliver it (at 7:02pm) and I need to go pick them up
They also changed it to say onboard for delivery at 11am (it didn't say that before), and never sent me the "your parcel is coming today between x and y" message :(
I appreciate the effort their people put in, but a little more notice would be nice. Especially since night time deliveries aren't part of their conventional hours, at least in my area

Funny sort of a day, did stuff and sort of did nothing. Managed to make it to a farewell for one my favourite people, ate my favourite sangie and my crack cookie, usual studio routine, managed to cook dinner (basic basa with rice wine, garlic, ginger, coriander, chilli, sesame oil, soy and tamari).
Trying my damndest to find the organisation for this apartment that we’ve been in for years. My study area really wasn’t conducive and now I’m thinking I’m back to a non-fixed space (for study) and that it’s time to get rid of the desks again and my chair. As good an idea as it was at the beginning, I think I just ended up making the space a bit unusable (and a bit of a subconscious barrier).
I know I still have too much stuff and still trying to do the SDC. Oh well, always 2025 I guess.
