Former Bob’s Burgers actor Jay Johnston was sentenced to one year and one day in prison for his role in the January 6th US Capitol riot.
Johnston... previously pleaded guilty to a felony count of interfering with law enforcement during civil disorder in July 2024.
The 56-year-old actor was initially arrested in June 2023 after the FBI tweeted a photo requesting information about his identity. He is alleged to have led a group to the “front line of rioters confronting the police who were defending the entrance” to the Capitol, helping to launch an assault against a group of officers.
You might see who's making all those movies. Because it's not Hollywood, other than the Reagan film, which he had a small part in and which also was a box-office bomb.
He makes right-wing Christian movies because those are the only roles he gets.
When he was Hercules, he was one of the biggest stars on TV.
Squid of all people, talking Hollywood, surely you must that know everyone with any capital is literally leaving California. I keep hearing that is is a problem with “LA people”, buts its not the homeless they are talking about.
So you responded to say what exactly? That Sorbos is getting roles or? I am confused because clearly I was not mistaken on where films are shot considering the post I replied to clearly says Sorbos is doing films not shot in Hollywood, or are you one the “LA people” seeking to instigate?
Yeah they aren’t shot in Cali anymore and its not tax breaks. To avoid certain people studios are going to Nevada and New Mexico. Its not like they are going to NY or Georgia.
First of all, production companies are literally shooting in Georgia all the time. I have a friend who works in production in Atlanta.
Secondly, if they wanted Kevin Sorbo in movies, he could live wherever he wanted. He didn't abandon Hollywood, Hollywood abandoned him. Because he's a lunatic with an ego the size of Mount Olympus.
He was replaced in 2023. I think there may have been a period where he was fired and they didn't have a replacement yet, and Jimmy Pesto just wasn't on the show, but I'm not certain.
That's what I'm calling all prison convictions. Because there's a stigma there. It's part of why prison labour can be so easily exploited. Because it's a class based stigma.
AIUI those were already partially in the can when he was still charged and they stuck by the "Innocent until proven guilty in a court of law" especially since he is voicing the role and not appearing as a face actor. I don't expect that to be continued and I would expect a death or recasting soon.
