Sucks. After the disaster that was my mainboard I decided its my last ASUS product.
- Sorry to hear, I've never had a bad experience even with a 3070.
  
  Well... a 3070 is a bit different because the chip itself is manufacutred by NVIDIA, ASUS is packaging it and builds the cooling system, ports, etc.

  They had an issue where the mainboard was destroying the new 7950X3D cpus and handled it terribly:
  Made a fuss with the RMA process and refused to recognize the mistake
  Brought out a new mainboard update which was supposed to fix the issue (it didnt) and updating voided your warranty

Eh, I'll very thoroughly look up customer reviews outside amazon before buying anything from Asus. I have a GL702 laptop that heats up like a fucking stove, has the flimsiest cooling system and, to top it off, causes intense screen tearing when running hot. I keep expecting the screen to die from excessive heat exposure any time I'm playing.
- My dad and aunt have used Zenbooks and Vivobooks for years without issue. Maybe the ROG lineup aren’t as durable?
  
  It's possible. I have an older S46C ultrabook from 2012 and the fella still runs good. The downside is that the GPU sits on the left of the mouse touchpad, so your left wrist will feel the heat if you play certain games
- Everything I've purchased from Asus for the last 10 years has been absolute garbage. HP and Dell are better.
  That's right, I said it.
- Asus used to be good. These days I'm not so sure.
  
  I recently bought an Asus router that just stops working for no good reason. Looked up the issue and apparently they've known about it for a while but have not fixed it.
- I have the same model. It crashes all the time due to some kind of cpu bug. Also sleep mode stopped working after linux kernel 5.10. Asus, never again.
  
  Oh yeah, reminds me that you can't spin the fans to the max (~10kRPM) under linux. I had to download a package off github, asus-fan-control, to make it stop frying itself

Can't wait for their bloated armoury crate to install on my computer as soon as I launch it.

Considering they’re basically doing that with their Chromebox line, it is not that big of a surprise.

I hope they consider cheap models especially arm based. not just "gamer" crap
