Same. If I go on a desktop browser sometimes it tries to trick me into re-enableing the history too.
I have it that way on desktop and just changed my setting on mobile, I didn't know I could do that without logging in. On desktop YT keeps watch history even if you tell YT not to, recommendations being relevant gives it away.
My kids use my account.
So mine is a quarter space, a quarter MTG, and half Minecraft.
