Just a bit of hindsight after the game: what the fuck did United actually do this window? Like, Onana is an upgrade, but I'm not convinced they've actually improved lol. Højlund is unproven at best, and while I think he could be good it's too early to tell; their midfield has replaced Fred with Mason Mount, and they have Reguilon on loan. Meanwhile Brighton have Ansu Fati, Newcastle have fucking Tonali, and Liverpool finally have an actual midfield.
I agree. I was seeing signing announcements from Man United, but they seemed so over the place. Haag is a solid coach, so he must have a plan. But I'm not seeing it.
Brighton have stepped it up from being a formidable side to being a mildly terrifying one. Fati was a WTF signing for them. But they had other excellent signing this window too. And they managed to keep hold of Ferguson as well. But most of all, like us they seem to have a very clear occurs of where they want to go tactically.
Tbf Fati isn't the player he was before the injuries but still like what the fuck lol. If he can regain that confidence and ability Brighton should have a shout at CL.
I do appreciate the extra salt in the wound. The feeling that you lost that game because that defender was a millisecond too slow, and just a bit away from a successful block... Good stuff.
Obviously that was more exciting but without context of the time it was scored or that it was the winner, it's just a goal off a cleared corner, so it's just a good strike. I was admiring the buildup and precision to Odegaard's goal. Martinelli's assist was a perfectly weighted nutmeg into an ice cold finish. What can I say, I guess I have a type.
I was hoping the United match would provide some highlights I could replay over and over again to hold me over during the international break. It did not disappoint.
Still pissed off at the non penalty. Was it a clear penalty? No. Was it an obvious error? No.
Reminded me of the David Luiz pen/red 2 years ago against Wolves that cost us fourth. That penalty stood with even less contact, and a more obvious dive. The bullshit gaslighting afterwards from MOTD, too!
I mean Walters has more than enough space to push in rn. I think we can afford to be patient with Myles and Ethan cuz they are still not even on a contract lol, but Ethan specifically could totally get minutes in the league cup, if not more.
Fabrizio Romano said apparently El Ghazi who's a free agent was at the Emirates yesterday and is in discussions with at least one premier league club. Wonder if it's United with all the Dutch links lol.
