He's sixth months now and can say his first word: "mum" - without knowing what it's good for.
He can flip from his back to his stomach and back again easily.
He can grab and hold things with so much precision.
And he's definitely the cutest and calmest little boy in the world (sorry, other parents) 😋
My three year old is speaking complete sentences with correct syntax and grammar. And the ideas that he expresses are mostly sane. The next challenge is getting him to stop talking for a minute or two.
Kids understand language well before they're able to speak it, and so I think he has about two years of backlogged thoughts that he's trying to get out as soon as possible.
My 11 month old drank from a water fountain. We expected him to play in it, but he leaned in like a school child who had been doing it all their life and pursed his lips and took a slurp.
I swear my nearly 3 week old is starting to turn her head towards me, and occasionally even try to focus her eyes on me, when I speak to her up close.
She wasn’t even meant to be born for another 12 days! At least going by due dates. But honestly as much as I’ve researched adjusted age for preterm babies, I’m becoming convinced I can ignore all that. I can see her speeding towards the 2 month milestones (the first checkpoint, essentially). She’s not hit them yet, that would be crazy, but I’m seeing early signs like the above.
Also she read Watership Down.
Okay it was an abridged version for kids and I did the reading. But she liked the pictures.
1.5 years old he is understanding the concept of hot, so he is learning to blow on warm food, let me know if it’s too hot and communicate this: a hand over the head is the signal for “hot”. It gets used when he passes near the oven, when I am cooking and when we serve food.
