Seattle’s Living Computers Museum logs off for good as Paul Allen estate will auction vintage items

If you're looking for an example of why we should not trust billionaires with our cultural heritage, here it is. Now all the cool pieces will be auctioned off to people with too much money and the rest will just be trashed.

    You were even able to log into their ancient computers over the network.... every Unix nerd should have the opportunity to log into an ancient Unix system running on a real PDP-11. It's so different... and so slow lol

    But on a serious note, this sucks to hear. It's a real shame that he didn't create some sort of charitable trust to ensure that this museum continued operating into the future. Feels like a big loss to the world that it's being sold off like this.
