US or not, ProtonMail is owned by a Trump supporter, I’d stay away from them.
ProtonMail is not owned by a trump supporter. Its CEO is a Trump supporter.
The implications might be the same but can we at least be accurate about it. Proton is majority owned by the Proton Foundation, they are transitioning towards a non-profit structure.

I was told this when I mentioned that I was moving from Apple to Proton, turns out not to be true but I have moved all of my stuff to hosthero; my blog, my storage, and my random email addresses.
In the end it was cheaper to move all of my stuff.
Nah, the CEO is a liberal, but he seems a bit weird about some issues in a single issue voter way. Haven't seen anywhere that he is a Trump supporter, but he did support Gail Slater.
