TBH, Russian ruling class will gladly sell out if the price is high enough.
🤷 Indeed until now it has been Europe cutting Russia and not the other way, but I find hard to believe Putin will not pull the trigger over a bunch of countries that have been pushing to follow the war until it's total defeat... or the dead of the last ucranian.
And this is regardless what you may or not think about the war, is a matter of common sense: do not feed your enemies.
what's the downside for russia though? they can shut off the gas whenever they want, why not make money out of europe? all they have to do is sell the gas for a bit less than LNG.
the only danger is if europe uses russian gas to reindustrialize and become a threat to russia, but can you actually imagine european states doing that instead of endless austerity?
