Arezou Badri, 31, has been left paralyzed after she was shot by Iranian police earlier this year for allegedly violating mandatory hijab laws, according to activist and journalist Masih Alinejad.
Most countries don't actually care. These countries are valuable to them in resources and power, and will keep funding them.
Even beacons of "democracy" will fund terrorists and human rights abusers, so long as the oil and power keeps flowing in their pockets, such as France and the RSF, the US and most countries to the Gulf states + Israel, and more.
Yep, but nowadays, ISIS is a shadow of its former self. (plus, i forgot that they exist. haven't heard of them in years except when the massacre in russia occurred) and besides, saudi arabia has done more to benefit ISIS than the west.
There are more immediate threats in the MENA, such the sudanese civil war, the gulf's human rights abuses/absolute dictatorships, the palestinian genocide, iran, libya/iraq's failed states, egypts police state, the future of syria, turkeys hatred of kurds, so on and so forth...
It's heartbreaking seeing what goes on in Sudan and Yemen and how it is ignored. Even worse is how the UAE funds the RSF and my own country, SA is committing war crimes in Yemen. But the "civilized west" doesn't give a shit, as long as the oil is flowing.
Yes, China is the hardest part, if we just stop having economic relations with them, then we have way less soft power for example. We should help Taiwan for example.
Russia though, is propping up Iran (or did so) and NK, so affecting russia affects Iran, NK not so much.
But standing strong together is s first step, and sanktion where it can be done too.
Yes now is the time especially wrt Iran and ruzzia. Irans proxies are significantly weakened in Syria and Lebanon. Russia also lost influence in Syria now that the freedom-loving people of Syria have risen up. Russia is also losing in Ukraine.
Either these countries buck up and accept the Rules Based Order or pay the consequences.
What rules-based order? Gestures vaguely at the Middle East. Also you're forgetting that all these countries are bankrolled by China so while they're weakened they still have a strong backer who's not going anywhere anytime soon.
Sooner or later the civilized world is going to have to unite to take down racist fascist genocidal china too. It won't be pretty I admit but it's a small price to pay to prevent the downfall of humanity as we know it
"Civilized world"? what do you mean by this? i don't like jumping to conclusions, but are you implying that the rest of us are uncivilized?
And as i've said in another comment, the "civilized world" only cares to benefit itself. If china was a good puppet the western countries would have no problem with them. (not to imply i support china, they are a fascist, capitalist authoritarian shithole and are committing genocide)
The world isn't black and white. But calling them "civilized" is disingenuous. A country can't be civilized while also massacring and committing genocides abroad, no matter how much freedom you have.
Have you seen the crackdown on pro-Palestinian activism in like half the Weet? If that's youe standard for civilization then your "civilized world" is gonna be two or three countries tops.
That doesn't mean the people in those countries cannot be civilised, as people in civilised countries cannot be psycopathic murderers.
Uh... Look up "crackdowns on pro-Palestine activists" and see what you'll get. It's mostly a thing in university campuses, which while definitely not as bad as China is absolutely not free speech.
Iran is standing up to the American dictatorship which is committing genocide. Keep virtue signaling about that headscarf while massacarring women and children. Your horse is lower than theirs.
Imagine advocating to murder women to "liberate them from their headscarf" in 2024.
