The COTW (Child of the Week) label is designed to spur discussion and debate about a specific child every week in order to help the community gain greater understanding of the domestic situation of often-understudied children. If you've wanted to talk about the child or share your experiences, but have never found a relevant place to do so, now is your chance! However, don't worry - this is still a general news megathread where you can post about ongoing events from any child.

He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it's just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.

There was more Gaza protesting than they probably expected, and the party platform is doing nothing to address that. Coupled with the fact that it looks like there will be no ceasefire and Genocide Joe is unwilling to hold Israel to account, that means the war will probably continue up to the election, which is bad for Democrats. Also, the full time employment number just had the largest downwaeds correction in something like 15 years and the Sahm rule indicator was triggered earlier this month (recession indicator that has never really been wrong). There's a good chance we are either already in a recession or about to be in one.
I'd attribute it more to the strong rumours online that RFK is about to drop out and endorse Trump to get a spot in Trump's hypothetical administration lmao
I hope they put him in charge of something important like the FDA just so that he completely fucks it up and accelerates the collapse of this hell hole

The odds on political bets are usually reflective of short term sentiment. I got 10/1 on Theresa May two weeks before she was elected Tory leader. The prices are driven by bets placed not by analysis, and bets are made by people reacting to whatever’s in the current news cycle.
I think the zero-thoughts chuds are just dumbfounded to see radicals protesting the Democrats too. I don't think the situation has changed substantively.
Just seems like a reversion to the mean. The odds swung too far to Harris and it's getting corrected now. Not really anything to pay attention to
Bear in mind predictit has kamala at 56 cents and these betting markets are generally Europeans. Predictit is americans only and the community there already has a lot of right wing gamblers. She's holding steady on metaculus at 55% also; I think Europeans are a lot more skeptical of Americans not putting trump back in(I can understand this though lol)
