Please keep things relevant to thrash (death thrash, blackened thrash, crossover, speed metal etc. are permitted).
Please search before posting a song, do not post the same song over and over.
Friendly debate is encouraged.
When posting a song use the format of "Band - Song [FFO: band1, band2]". This just helps keep things uniform. The "FFO" (For Fans Of) section is optional. It is for lesser known bands. (Stole this idea from the Death Metal community).
No racist, sexist, blah blah blah... you get the idea. This is not the place to discuss sensitive matters, after all metal should unite!
No NSFW content (apart from songs/album covers. If they do include NSFW content, please mark the posts as such).
Post in English only (obviously you can post songs in different languages).
Aggressive modern thrash band from Greece! Taking heavy inspiration from Kreator and the antichristian themes of Slayer. My pick is probably their catchiest song to me upon first listen.
By far my absolute favorite output from Vader. This highly energetic and fast paced EP is basically 4 songs, each less than 4 minutes, but the speed and riffing is intense. My gift to you all today.
Late post, fell asleep by accident last night ;D .
I've been listening to the album Angel Witch by Angel Witch loads recently. I think it's maybe my favourite album I've listened to so far this year. I really wanted to post it however it is heavy metal, not thrash. However, I remember Exodus made a cover of one of their songs, so I can post this instead xD.
I like how on top of Tom Huntings vocals (usually Exodus' drummer, but on this song does vocals) they have Zetro's layered on top during the chorus. At the end it sounds like they also have Chuck Billy's gutteral scream, which I think is likely, since he did vocals on track 6 of this album.
One of my favourite Anthrax tracks to listen to at the moment. Love the slower, yet heavier riffs, and definitely the time change when they play em faster! I was surprised to learn I have not yet posted this song!
Opener to these crossover punks' 4th album. Fun tone and interesting time changes played over a recorded live crowd, just for that extra bit of atmosphere. Not sure about the rest of the album though, but I do like this track.
Today's pick is imo one of the better tracks on Countdown, the closer to the album that follows their taste of success. Awesome solos in this one with the riffing to match. Mustaine's vocal delivery is still.. unique, but definitely less cringey than Sweating Bullets lol.
Thought it was about time I posted some more Onslaught. This time from their most recent album: Generation Antichrist (released 2020). I'm not sure why Sy Keeler left the band, but I wish he was still on vocals. There is nothing wrong with the new vocalist at all, just a matter of preference.
Some old school pissed off thrash today. These guys' debut album was also originally released as Illusions, but was re-issued as "Chemical Exposure" by Roadrunner Records. Sucks that the drummer was physically abusive later on, story came out recently as of last year.
Was only just made aware of this awesome modern Teutonic Thrash band and their 2022 release, a collection of homages to sci-fi nerd culture (Star Trek, X-files, Metroid series), and also to thrash metal itself! My pick to share today, however, is a cheeky one lol. I also love non thrash songs being thrashified xD. Let's just fucking infuse the entire world with thrash metal!!!
Goregrind version of a Metallica classic with all the fat trimmed off, literally lol. I feel it misses something but it's still a solid 3 min and a half track.
My journey through the US and Teutonic big 4s continues... I've pretty much put listening to other bands on hold till I get through em all (that is minus the non-thrash Metallica albums). I feel like once I finally nail down the basics of thrash, I can fully explore more underground bands (yes, I know, it's been a long time coming ;D). I successfully made it through the "Neo-Destruction" era (almost) in one piece. This is including The Least Successful Human Cannonball, which, I briefly pondered posting here for shits and giggles, but I decided to spare you all the pain. Thank me later. I also listened to All Hell Breaks Loose. I enjoyed it, but this release felt more interesting to post about for now.
This song I feel is quite groovy, especially by early Destruction's standards.
I remember really getting into this album when it came out at the time. Still pretty decent, it's an earworm that finds its way through random thoughts and memories as I do my mundane business throughout the day randomly lol. Anyway, here's the title track as my pick for the day. Catchy and a bit groovy, and another awesome solo.
