- It's good to be federated.
To an extent. As I mentioned, some redditors are really too interested in having an enemy to fight, so hopefully we can get some cool people over without attracting the nutjobs who see 1945 germans everywhere.
- Communick adds Funkwhale to supported services, 250GB upload quota for subscribers
Communick subscribers now have access to music streaming via https://communick.stream, powered by Funkwhale.
Unlike the current streaming services, Funkwhale aims to be a more social experience. Users can bring their own music collection and choose to share with their friends and connections, or even make it fully accessible to the public. This means that it could also be used as a platform for musicians to engage with their audiences and (eventually) even sell their songs directly, without any cut from middlemen.
Communick now is offering four services to subscribers:
- Mastodon (microblogging, alternative to Twitter)
- Matrix (Audio/Video/Conference Messaging, alternative to WhatsApp/Google Hangouts/Facetime/FB Messenger/Discord/Slack)
- Lemmy (Discussion forum, alternative to Reddit)
- Funkwhale (Music streaming)
All of that for $29/year. You can easily sign-up at the portal and start using it right away.

Users can brute-force their way into reading private messages with Lemmy versions below 0.19.1. I know there was the question of federation issues previously, but it appears to have been largely mitigated with the later versions at this point. Are there any plans to upgrade pawb.social?
