Actually even HA fillers stay in the body longer than reported. There’ve been a number of MRI studies done that show filler still unmetabolized after 20 years without top up. There are a ton of articles, med studies about it online. The cut has a good one but there’s a paywall. Healthy is up for debate, I’m sure, but yep they 100% don't fully dissolve. I had my tear troughs (under eyes) done years ago and the filler didn’t break down so my body kind of created a protective barrier around it so after a couple of years there was a roll that sort of bunched up when I smiled. It wasn’t hideous, just looked like I had puffy eyes but still not a cute look. Went to three different clinics before someone identified it and told me it needed to be dissolved. All the others wanted to put more in and claimed there was NO WAY it could still be in there, even after I showed them the medical journals telling them they were wrong.

I think it’s only natural to want to slow the aging process (in moderation) but having the right injector is everything because a lot of them are just pushers trying to give a specific look because it’s trendy, or doing whatever their clients want whether it suits their face or not. PS, as a nurse you can get ”qualified” in filler in 4-6 weeks which is not nearly enough IMO. Yet another way corporations get away with turning women into collateral damage bc they need faces to inject their product into. And yes men and non binary ppl get filler too but the vast majority of beauty pressure around aging is placed on women.

But I digress. With her ladyship, this level of obsession with staying young can be an indication of failure to fully individuate or actualize as an adult human. Which is sad but understandable for someone who had kids so young. I really saw that in the video of her crying about not getting complimented on her jaw anymore and in the way she’s so psychoemotionally attached to the SI gig. Still, it’s the hypocrisy I find so troubling. It kinda seems like she stumbled on (ahem stole) a way to get attention that’s made her “famous” and she’s going to keep milking the body pos cow because it gets her airtime, no matter who she hurts in the process.

…just a wee add-on to MoonChild’s to explain why you’re seeing us all of a sudden…Originally there was a 6000+ strong sub dedicated to snark, analysis and investigation of S, aka TPB, aka birdy etc. S didn’t like this and in addition to the cease and desist she also managed to have the sub shut down. After a couple of days of trying to start new subs and getting banned repeatedly the mods came here.

Whoa definitely tmi lol. I feel like the oversharing is such a huge part of the strategy for these women. The only other place I’ve seen it so consistently is in early dating where a date will to try to create the illusion of closeness by volunteering too-intimate details when you’ve only just met. It’s a classic manipulation tactic

I remember checking in on her page to see how she responded when the George Floyd protests were happening and man was it bad. I was glad to see people calling her out and hoped it might be a growth moment for her but clearly it was aaall for show.

I just started a Q&A thread (I’m newish too). It seemed like a better solution as there’s a LOT to sift through and summarize and didn’t want to put that labor on one person.

Very skimming the surface tldr (again, I’m new to this too): the purpose of the snark is to discuss the lies, fraudulent behavior of a Body positivity influencer who’s used filters/body tune (but denies it), stolen the work of bipoc women and been protected from criticism by sponsors/members of the media. Also exploits her kids for content. TIL pics of her and her kids have shown up on porn sites and apparently she’s well aware that her content is enjoyed by ”unintended” demographics. Ew.

Wow, can’t imagine what it must be like to pass the buck like that. She’s acting just like a corrupt corporation, blame it on an employee and keep rolling along.

Hey so I’m fairly new to this but very on board. I only found out about the sub the day it was banned but had mutual connections back when I lived in Guelph and always thought she was so phoney. Never met her but her brand of body pos seemed like a total gimmick, in no way authentic, so I’m glad to see truth come to light and hope Janette’s project will help usher in the end of the influencer age bc its so toxic on all levels.

Aaanyway. I’m missing some inside jokes…What is the deal with the rock?!

A CDNdeinfuenced page was started, not a single mention of her and it was still banned. This seemed like a safe route to me as NYC and LA both have their influencer snark communities but no. There are some very serious censorship issues I hope Reddit will be seeing clearly. These influencers are businesses and must be held accountable
