  • I had the opportunity to read more about tennis history, more specifically about the "battle of the sexes" and it's not as skewed with women also winning against top 10 ranked players.

  • I know very little about gay rights history in the US but in a quick search I learned that the supreme court case that made same sex marriage legal was put forth by a Democrat.

Another thing is that I'm under the impression that the Replublican party is very much a Religeous party that does not reconize anything outside Men-Women relations. I'm always confused to hear about gay Republicans.

  • Only the other person can do that.

I offered my take for two reasons: trying be more active on Lemmy and because that comment had me learning something new today.

Reading that the top Womens tennis player couldn't beat a man that is not even in the top 200 sounded fishy to me and I was surprised when I learned that is true.

Relearned also something today, I can't tell what other people think,.speacilly on social media and shouldn't try to guess what that is.

  • I went and looked it up and both sisters did lose by a large margin against the man ranked 204th, back I "the battle of the sexes" in 1998.

I guess their point is that the gap between pro and amateur is as big as the gap between professional men and women, in Tennis at least.

Edit: since learned that throughout all the "battle of the sexes" matches in Tennis, Women have won against top players so the gap is much smaller than I first realized.

  • Where would military equipment to rival the one from the US come from?

Edit: Did a quick search on the largest military manufactors and out of the top 10, 1 is English, 3 are Chinese and the remaining 6 are American, so none are European.

If the US decides that Europe can't buy equipment they are in a good position to do so.

  • Also not American and I have acquaintances that believe that these billionaires are good and working for the good of the People. I can't for the life of me understand how they reached this conclusion and all they say to justify is that all negative things said about them is "woke" nonsense....
