Israel got the ball rolling on recent Holocaust denial and absolvement of German guilt by Bibi peddling the claim that Hitler never wanted to kill Jews but was influenced into it by the words of the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem. Once you start rewriting history, it opens a Pandora’s box of nasty Neo-Nazi historical revisionism.
The Palestinians are a very intelligent resourceful people. It must have made the Israelis grind their teeth in rage to know that despite living in an open air prison, Palestinians in Gaza had a literacy rate of 97%. It would explain the ferocity with which Israel went after the educated sections of society, such as doctors, teachers, pharmacists, engineers, nurses, university professors, lawyers etc. makes the silence of global bodies representing these professions all the more damning.
Ah yes. A superpower sliding into decline, a former Asian powerhouse that has been in recession for thirty years, a large south Asian nation with delusions of grandeur and breathtaking levels of poverty and a country founded as a penal colony who have just been taken for fools by the US in a useless submarine deal. Here ladies and gentleman, is the QUAD!!
Saw the video. Stunned at the fearlessness and courage. One fighter with a homemade explosive up against a gang of soldiers who are equipped with the best that US taxpayer money can buy. Now I’m wondering if in a few decades from now there will be a movie similar to Enemy at the Gates but all about Palestinians resisting fascist foot soldiers.
With any other president I’d agree but this is Trump. A venal and petty man who wouldn’t think twice before using the country’s soldiers and even nuclear weapons to defend his sense of pride
With Wes Anderson, I think that he’s found his knack and if it’s pleasing the critics, then he’ll continue. You have some directors such as Ang Lee who can produce works across many genres but I suppose Wes must be doing something right as anyone who is anyone in Hollywood is literally falling head over heels to star in his films.
I honestly hope that we once again see the down to earth Wes Anderson. The French dispatch and asteroid city really threw me off unfortunately. I’m holding out hope for the Phoenician scheme so fingers crossed
You’re absolutely right about AI 😂. Just two years ago when AI kicked off, there were many AI videos of mock Wes Anderson movies. It is sad that the great director himself seems to be using the style in those fakes to make further films.
Grand Budapest and Darjeeling limited are two of my favourites as among the comedy there were some dark themes.
The shadow of fascism in the former and the injustices of poverty in the latter
Absolutely. His earlier work is far more accessible. I watched asteroid city and felt like maybe I wasn’t intelligent enough to understand the film. Maybe that’s true 😂 but it’s a far cry from the accessible simplicity of his earlier works
The royal tenebaums is a good example of brilliant dialogue and an awesome turn from the late Gene Hackman, who stole the film. However, Wes Anderson got really good performances from the rest of the cast
You’d kill Egypt’s tourist industry
