Hi! I saw your edit and see you got your answer, but I'll just leave this here for record keeping as well.

No, not a bot, I explicitly didn't want to automate this at all so every one of my posts has been manually done by my hands. The most I do is notifications of new posts from .ml based off their RSS feed

Why am I cross-posting .ml?

I cross-post from .ml to the nearest relevant non-.ml comm to reduce the influence of .ml comms and indirectly, the instance as a whole, to make it an easier decision for other instance admins to defederate because one key reason I identified that admins don't want to defederate is because .ml still has some very large comms and some niche comms.

I believe the behavior of its admins (the main admins are Lemmy devs) does harm to the overall growth of the Lemmy-verse and maybe even the Thrediverse (since Lemmy kinda kicked off the Thrediverse) because of its association with the devs of Lemmy and their insistence to use .ml as their personal political platform to spread harmful propaganda

On the outside, bringing up Lemmy frequently leads to comments like "Lemmy? Isn't that the place with a bunch of tankies?" Or "Tried Lemmy, but found it full of pro Russia crap so I left". The best way forward from that I see is to either widely defederate from .ml like the rest of the Triad, or pressure them to put a fair and unbiased as possible admin team.

Cartman would honestly be a better president, Meteor would be even better, but his pools cratered in the last election

But if we did that, we'd also need to send like CEOs since after all there's profit in war, won't you think of the poor poor CEOs?

Yes, but now there's been a study(s) done, and more studies to backup (or disprove!) is always good, even if the subject "is a given"

It's positive because it means further investment into Linux by vested organizations that don't have profit motives (eg governments) and less investment into proprietary profit-driven spyware (Microsoft). So very positive IMHO

Jet has not posted to crows, Jet is not even a party to this cross-posting from the perspective of a poster, they have not been posting to a .ml comm so I have not crossposted any of their posts

Well it's had a noticeable effect, .ml traffic is way down since when I started 5 months ago, .ml memes has gone from ranking 14th to near 30th

.world does not have a censorship issue, I can confidently say after being heavily in the modlog for months now. I don't see .world admins in the modlog micromanaging everything to push harmful propaganda.

I encourage everyone who sees this go-to lemmy.world/modlog and put dessalines or davel in the "mod" box (one of the only instance that doesn't have this disabled btw) and see for yourself.

Whatever harm you think this does to the Lemmy-verse pales in comparison to the harm .ml and the behavior of its admins does because of its association with the devs of Lemmy and their insistence to use .ml as their personal political platform

In some cases, I cross post from the infamous Yogthos who has been widely site banned and won't show as a crosspost to anyone on an instance that has banned them

In other cases, I crosspost from users who are on instances that either aren't widely federated with (Beehaw) or intentionally widely defederated from (Grad, hex). It won't show up as a crosspost in those cases either
