  • Zinc is also pretty good for your skin in general. I use mineral sunscreen because I am stubborn, but it sounds better than it actually is. It works by sitting on your skin and reflecting light. It is opaque. You look white as a ghost, or you buy tinted and risk looking like you are covered in foundation. And it gets on everything you wear especially if it's black. I probably never use enough just because I think I'd look like a clown.

  • Around here most folks don't seem to imply their partners are not good with tech, just that they aren't excited about a reduced reliability of their home. Maybe this is more of a trope in other online spades. This commenter seems to respect that most people expect the basic functions of their house to work reliably.

"family acceptance factor" "spouse acceptance factor" "I will consider how others feel and how I might affect them"

I think it's important to be careful around how you refer to your partner, especially if they are of a marginalized group. I just don't think this commenter was being disrespectful.

  • Sometimes mindfulness is more of a soft awareness. Not really thinking or knowing about anything in particular.

I also don't like how it's used, because I have the same problem as you describe. It reminds me of trying to maintain a stoic perspective, being non-intellectually aware of sensations in your body, and trying to focus on what you can control.
