  • I suppose dragging him there, itโ€™s even in his own chuffing country, along with some others, is out of the question.

  • Most certainly!

And then being told off for messing up the living room.

  • I have brambles sprouting up all over the place from where they were left to spread by the previous occupant. And that sodding bindweed stuff.

If it wasnโ€™t for my wife itโ€™d be full of veg.

  • A lot of hard work!

We moved in at beginning of December and it was just an overgrown mess. It's basically plant things and see what grows best and where. Sunflowers OK in some places but not in others, brambles and bindweed sending up suckers everywhere. There was some overgrown bush things at bottom of garden - they had to come out for new fence/gate and I couldn't get all the roots out. So shoots from that keep appearing and when I dig them out, they've spouted from a piece of root less than a cm long!

We inherited a rhubarb plant that we've had two lots off of and it just keeps on going.

Have always been in army barracks or a flat, so when we got this bungalow it was a dream come true. Dad had green fingers and so do my two sisters, appears that I have as well.

The result is that I now have suntanned legs and spend a lot less time online :-)

  • My first garden. Coming to it a bit late at 67, but we have our first potatoes. There are a tomato and a couple of chillies showing and the runner beans have quite a few flowers. Sunflowers are different sizes.

  • My wife for the past few weeks. In fact since I met her about 6 years ago.

  • Pretty good for the first three quarters, and then (for me anyway) it went a bit too far fetched.

Going to look at some more of his work now.

  • We should have grown a pair when they first attacked, back in 2014.

  • I keep seeing things like this, then an item on the news that says sales in Spain are up.

    Itโ€™s not all good news.

  • Just finished reading The Object by Joshua T Calvert. Good timing!

PS. It was recommended here in Beehaw ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • So why canโ€™t we put some troops there? Oh no! mustnโ€™t upset Putin. This will drag on and on unless we grow a pair and start hitting back hard.

  • I thought there were more of us than that ๐Ÿซก

  • It must be the cheapest or cost efficient. Can't be spending money if they don't have to. Yet another reason to stop eating meat and dairy.

  • Learnt this the hard way. Have used Fiskars scissors since the 70s and they were top quality. Was looking for a new pair for the kitchen and found them online. Only to realise they were made in China. Theyโ€™re pants.
