"Games as a service" are by design never really finished, right? If you are cool with that, go for it. I have never personally tried one.
As an illustration, grab an endgame save from 1.0 and open it up in a modern version of the game. The moment you step out of the door, you will be greeted with a series of cutscenes/dialogs explaining several of the various game mechanics that were added in the versions since 1.0. These are game mechanics that, if they had been part of the game from the start, would have greatly altered how one would have chosen to play and reach endgame. One may have prioritized different crops, events, upgrades, relationships, decorations, etc.
Stardew Valley is absolutely worth the money, and the content updates definitely make it even more of a bargain. But calling the transition from 1.0 to 1.6+ "minor adjustments to gameplay" is disingenuous.
I just miss the days when games were already finished upon release.

I had no idea this issue had been identified. While I find this tool very useful, the project is seeming rather questionable to me now.
I thought Bucky Bright was a real person making a cameo, and that he was just a real good sport about making absurd jokes about his time as an actor. It was not until seeing the announcement of Conway's death in 2019 that I realized Bucky Bright was made up for 30 Rock.

It makes more sense to me to have the switches appear as red when the device has the ability to record you. When color is used as an indicator for something, the general convention is that red is negative. Meaning that there is a greater possibility of something going wrong when a red indicator is being displayed. You could argue that "webcam is not working for some reason" is a negative, and that seeing the bright red indicator can bring your attention to the switch as a hint to how to fix the issue. I would argue against that by stating that having a webcam record you when you do not want it to is a much bigger potential negative than the webcam not recording when you do want it to.
Also:
- When a traditional video camera displays a red indicator light, that means the camera is recording.
- On the underside of the Framework 16, the expansion module latches are red when disengaged

The developer was a full-time web dev who wanted to try out solo game development, but they ended up hating the business management side of things, so they eventually gave up the "hobby" and just set the game to free permanently.

I do not skip the entire episode, but I always skip the last few minutes of "Kidney Now". The musical number was not interesting to me the first time, and it doesn't get any better on rewatches.
