  • You're right, we should go with verifiable facts.

Just a reminder, this is the guy that promised a Brexit vote to stop his party from splitting in half, actually followed through with that promise, and pikachu faced when he got outplayed by his own party's propaganda machine, then ran away to leave everybody else to deal with the mess.

  • I had a similar experience and worked a bit (not a load though) as I was lucky enough to get some support from the Bank of Mum and Dad.

I definitely felt like I had more free time then versus now though. But maybe that's just rose-tinted glasses.

  • That reads as "I couldn't make those decisions at that age, so obviously no one else could."

I say this as someone that had my first child at 23, after talking about it with my girlfriend since the age of 19.

We don't regret a thing. (Well, apart from not winning the lottery. Yet.)

  • The trouble you guys face is Trump is worse.

Just on Israel-Palestine alone, Trump is the person that recognised Jerusalem as Israel's capital city. If that isn't informative about his attitude about the situation...

  • This is the best demonstration I've seen of how 'AI' (LLMs) have no fucking clue what they're doing, and hence why all the 'AI will replace X job' is just absolute bullshit.

  • No, the dude isn't an idiot. We have an assumption to a right to privacy in the UK. That privacy was invaded and worse still he's being laden with the charge for the invasion.

Either we need to accept that there is a cost to counter-terrorism operations including those of false positives, or we in essence let the terrorists win by allowing them to force us into a perpetual state of terror - i.e. where we live and act in a constant state of fear of the potential of a terror act.

  • Or maybbbeeee we should expect more diligence from our state apparatus than one single message.

It's ridiculous to try and charge a person for what amounts to a police over reaction.

Should the Twitch streamer get the charge for being SWATed because they pissed off the troll in their channel?

  • Does anything in the world ever get under your skin?

If yes, then extrapolate that feeling to these situations and try to understand that just because it doesn't upset you, doesn't mean it wouldn't upset someone else.

If no, then I guess I envy your care free life but you'd do well to try and understand that not everyone is as lucky as you.

  • Your method makes more sense to me.

The need to gatekeep a genre which - by now - I reckon has far more entries that don't match the definition of a traditional/classic rogue-like game just seems unnecessary.

Giving a qualifier to 'roguelike' to delineate the classic versus more flexible/modern style makes more sense.
