Gender balance in government and business is not a proxy for equality.

Woman are not institutionally prevented from campaigning for office. If they're not voted in, that's just democracy.

Women are not institutionally prevented from climbing the corporate ladder. They largely prefer to have a more comfortable work/life balance.

But they are accepted into college 2:1 compared to men.

They do receive scholarships, educational, and career opportunities just for being women.

They do receive an egregiously unfair advantage in family and divorce courts.

Those are institutional.

A story all too common. Someone I know mine got divorced a number of years ago. He's a fun, charming, kind, decent looking fellow in good shape for his age, and I can't imagine he did anything to deserve what happened. I don't know all the details of their divorce, but I know all but one of his children was poisoned against him by his (now ex) wife, and it's only because the one happened to be away long term at the time.

His ex has several advanced degrees and is more than capable of earning six figures. And yet, he was still ordered to pay her spousal support and a sizable chunk of his pension. The divorce and family court system is absolutely fucked for men and it's a small wonder so many of them contemplate drastic measures when their lives are ripped away from them.

Feminism gave women all of the same rights and privileges as men and then conveniently "forgot" to balance out all of the exclusive rights women get just for being women.

This works until all the OEM's jump on the malicious malfunction gravy train.

Why does it need to be native? There are numerous extensions that do this. That's half the point of Firefox, it's so extensible.

I don't know, but who cares? What does anyone have against Firefox? It's fast, has a massive extensions library, open source, secure, private ... there's literally no reason whatsoever not to use it.

You'd think Microsoft software would work optimally on a Microsoft operating system, but, quite often, it operates in the shittiest, kludgiest ways.

A false negative for HIV screening meant a certain death sentence for the recipient, and that was true until just a few years ago.

You can't just say, "oh well, it's not as bad as it used to be." There's a vast spectrum between "it won't kill you" and "it's a total nothingburger" (wow, does that ever sound familiar). Now you're immunocompromised, something you definitely do not want in this day and age. Now you risk passing it onto partners and children. Now your quality of life is degraded decades earlier than it otherwise would be.

Now imagine you contracted it, not because you voluntarily engaged in behaviors and you knew the risks, but because you received life-saving medical care. Then imagine learning it might have been prevented if the organization responsible was concerned with pandering to sexual identity politics than ensuring product safety.

This is, and has always been, about safety. Screening has improved. Research has provided more data on prevention and monitoring. They wouldn't have changed the policies otherwise.

I had the displeasure of managing Teams for an IT client of mine, and to say it's a clusterfuck is putting it charitably.

It is almost impossible to change the user. A basic, rudimentary function that should be a simple matter of signing out and signing back in. Nope, doesn't work. You have to reinstall Teams to get that working.

Oh, and reinstalling is an ordeal itself. That usually doesn't work, either. You have to manually delete the installation directory and app data cache, and for whatever dumbshit reason, it doesn't install to program files, it installs to some obscure directory in the user profile.

God help you if you rename a user. It retains the old user details until you sign out.

Trying to share a link to join a team never works.
