  • “There are differences in the way men and women feel and think,” one flyer reads. “One of the reasons for this is the structural difference in the brains of men and women. It is known that men act based on theories, while women act based on emotions.”

Ew, it's the whole thing and not just a one sentence slip. Not surprising, but still disappointing. Being an angry asshole because of testosterone is still 100% acting on emotion and not logic.

  • I don't think this question is that different from asking whether a cat ever wonder why a dog might want to play with it. A cat probably assume something, which might not even be the same as another cat. It probably also depends on their personality and experience. Kind of like how humans often assume certain things without thinking about it too deeply, like the motivation of another person, even if that assumption is wrong.

  • Ah, I see what you mean now. In that case I don't think you can do it on Kbin natively rn. There is this website though, which might help a bit. At least imo it's easier to use. https://lemmyverse.net/communities

You can just filter for only lemmy.world. When you find a community you want to join you'll have to type the handle of the community in the search icon to the right rather than in the Magazine tab for communities that doesn't already have a copy on your instance.

  • Click on the tab Magazines at the top, select local and federate, put lemmy.world in the search box to see all lemmy.world communities. If you want to check for community with certain keywords you can try putting [keyword]@lemmy.world. It can search for the keyword in both the name and description, but not extensive as if you'd search on lemmy.world.

This can use some improvement, but it's not a Kbin problem though, since Lemmy is even worse when it comes to searching for communities outside each instance.

  • And how is it logical to go straight to the mods instead of both asking the mods publicly (which doesn't broke any rules either and is polite) and seeing how the users in the community feel about it?

  • Seems like someone can't handle discussion or argument. it is as he said though, if it bothers you that much then don't read it. I've got to wonder why you are so reactive to the idea of changing the name or even a suggestion to do it. What downside is there to this being brought up? What downside is there to changing the name? Because the site is going to reflect it's non-US centric nature which is more in line with its user base?

  • And why can't they or why shouldn't they complain about it? Many people seem to be agreeing and it's worth considering, so you can't even argue that it's pointless or that it shouldn't be.
