Discussion: What Android devices are you using?

  • Not that I know of? I have Connect and Liftoff for Lemmy running fine, Tomb Raider Go and Pocket Rally work nicely, Firefox is supported, etc etc. I have a HTC with Android 1.2 on it that I use for Google Maps, which works better than the Android 7 phone, so I'm not entirely convinced that new is always better, lol

  • Still adapting to Calibri ... I liked arial because it was usually near the top of the font list so it was easy to find, lol

  • This got me wondering what I'm using ... apparently it's a Moto G5s with Android 7?

    I like it because it didn't come loaded with extra software, it was cheap (80€ in 2019) and it's got a nice camera. In a few years I might think about replacing it, in which case I'd like something a bit smaller.

    I've got a tablet too, which is a Lenovo that fell off the back of a lorry in Hungary and my MIL bought it for me for the equivalent of 30€. It works well too, I think it's got Android 8 on it.

  • Aside from it sounding as horrible as Facebook, the rush of new users is probably because a) Instagram users can go straight in, b) curiosity, and c) oh god what is Elon thinking. They probably aren't aware of Mastodon. Or Lemmy.

  • Gotta take care of yourself first, nobody is going to begrudge you of that. I know exactly how you feel, I've been through the same thing before ... like they say, don't light yourself on fire to keep others warm.

    You've got a good group of volunteers, they're taking care of things, don't come back until you feel completely ready!

  • Yes, this is true, many conservative people are smart - they worked out that in order to get money and power they can exploit conservative talking points easily because they don't have to be truthful, thoughtful, or in any way care about other people

  • The way they've made this ruling while the person at the center or the initial complaint has come forward to say that the entire case was fabricated confirms there's no bottom to the pit of BS

    How thick is it? I use quite heavy arrows, and I'm currently using a "normal" foam target. I'm also curious to hear how it works out in the longer term, some of my friends use cardboard but I've held off because they always seem to be faffing about with it
