  • Follow the money. Nominee for surgeon general has a stake in wearable tech.

Just like when those scatter machines were forced on the TSA, it's because the person in charge had a stake in the company making them.

My company gave these things away to each employee for some 'fitness challenge' between departments....I never even opened the package. My group was mad at me for not helping win the free lunch or whatever it was .... Until I made them read the privacy policy. Many stopped wearing them immediately

  • That's the great thing about science.

Things that are considered facts in today's world can be disproven by new experiments and observations (recreated through experimentation and after adequate peer review).

So for me, it depends on what is being evaluated. 2+2 is a fact. Exact age of the moon might be up for more debate.

  • Now that the hospital was forced to keep her artificially alive to deliver, the family must now pay for the expensive care of the premie baby without any support or ,afaik, Insurance to cover it.

GOP sure does care about babies in the womb.... But I certainly they are born, fuck them, let them find some bootstraps

  • Most features here let Google scan and evaluate what you do on the web, messages, and apps.

They say it helps security, but of course it assures those features are on letting them suck in more data about the person.

A company like Google doesn't do something out of the kindness of their hearts, they do it for profit

  • I've lost 2 due to the businesses closing both times.

Refused unemployment insurance because my state requires you to register with a 3rd party id checker, id.me. For my state they required a full scans of my face and fingerprints....no way I was giving biometric data to a private company for 200 a week.

I got a few headhunters and I let them find me positions. Since programming, networking, and security are always in demand, it wasn't too long. Although I was on bread and peanut butter for the last few days
