  • I definitely do get a thrill when thinking about dying for a good cause instead of some absolutely pointless death. Hell yeah. I just hesitate to call it a fantasy, because of the other parts of what would have to happen to the people around me to make that happen.

Maybe that's the difference: women think about how others will feel more so than themselves while men think mostly of the glory or release it will bring them. Reminds me of the difference in suicide methods based on gender. Women attempt it more but choose easy-to-clean-up methods that are not as efficacious. Men seem to rarely think about who is going to have to clean bits of their brain off the ceiling and walls after they shoot themselves in the head. Wonder if this difference also explains why almost every school shooter is male.

Edit: I am not trying to say this is genetically differently wired between the genders. I think it has more to do with how boys and girls are raised differently.

  • I mean, Lucifer's fall was most likely directly after Adam was created or before that, so not really sure hookers existed yet either, as the concept of money hadn't blighted our minds yet.

  • I don't have any recommendations. I just want say those are absolutely beautiful. Well done, and please let them go to seed. I can't seem to get them to grow at all in my zone, but they may be my favorite flowers.

I am really enjoying all of your posts. Spring growing is pretty much over at my latitude, and we have entered the time of scorched earth. Lovely to see that somewhere, columbines are strutting their stuff!

  • I agree wholeheartedly with all you have said. It is especially frustrating when someone else's emotions prime me to feel that emotion overwhelmingly when the next slightly justifiable situation occurs.

For example, I had a friend who was going through the end of a terrible marriage and we talked about it a lot. She would leave, and then the next thing that came out of someone else's mouth would often make me snap at them, which would confuse them. I would feel justified in my anger at the time because it felt so real, but later realize it was just carry over from my conversation with my friend.

Luckily, she is divorced now and doing great.

  • I mean, I didn't think the meme meant one had to enjoy it. I definitely considered it long before I was a teacher. The sweet release of death would certainly be nice, and I try to live every day like it's my last. Saving others would be a great bonus, but it would still not be a fun scenario. So, while I definitely think about it, I would not call it fantasizing? But again, I think you are reading fantasy into the meme.

  • Hell yeah! Incredible shows. Certainly had a crush on Aeon Flux and The Head kinda freaked me out, but in a good way. The Maxx was a sweetheart, really. Definitely miss that kind of programming.
