  • The Holy Roman Empire emerged centuries after the fall of the Western Roman Empire and had little direct institutional or cultural continuity with classical Rome. The "Roman" aspect was more of an ideological concept and an attempt to invoke the prestige of the Roman legacy and the idea of a unified Christian empire in the West. So despite the name it was fundamentally a different entity from the ancient Roman Empire.

  • Its like a very puffy pancake, bake first, then rip it up, and then my authentic Austrian recipe doesn't bake it again. I love kaiserschmarrn.

Flipping the whole pancake is the hard part, cut it in half if it's not doable.

Here is the recipe I got from my Austrian brother from another mother:

200 Grams of Flour 3 Eggs 250ml of Milk *Raisins

    Jam Powdered Sugar

    *Only if you like Raisins

Separate the egg yolk and white. Mix the egg yolk, milk, flour and a pinch of salt together until you get a fluid yoghurt-like batter. Whip up the egg white and fold it through the mix. Put a covered pan on medium heat and butter it. .Pour the mix in, bake one side approximately 5 min's until the bottom is brown and the top is solidifying a bit. Turn it (Cut in middle if flipping as a whole is not possible, or turn a plate upside down on the top of the pan and use it as a middleman) and lower heat to medium-low. When the outside is a nice golden brown, murder it with a spatula. Powder it with sugar and serve with jam of your choice. You could also use apple sauce ...if you are the type of person that’s into that.

The batter could be 1.5-2.5 cm when pouring it in the pan, and will rise even further while baking. Kaiserschmarrn is traditionally served as non homogeneous pieces Don’t mix after adding the egg white, as this will destroy it’s fluffy quality and make your Kaiserschmarrn not puffy and sad.

  • That's gonna be a long and frustrating road of bans before they nip it in the bud. I don't know if there are other games popular over there, but gamblers are gonna gamble, they'll make up a game especially for it if they have to!

  • Cuddling with a body pillow when falling asleep gave me more than zero warmth when I was craving it. Same with really clasping some part of bedding as if I'm holding hands with it. I know it's fake, but I still feel my body/mind reacting positively, so, whatever, I'll take what I can get.

In the same fake cheativities category: Sometimes when traffic stresses me out I take a fake puff of a cig. I stopped years ago, but it gives me something. Fun stuff

  • After a bit of warming up, eInk screens are now basically what I hoped the future would bring us, reading from them is just a joy. Add the fact that I can choose my own fonts and fontsizes for books and the future is NOW, hahaha!

Very interested where this eInk phone path will lead!

  • Where there's a will, there's a toupee . I am blessed with a full, thick, luscious dark blonde coupe, but everyone around being so negative about hairpieces made me think about them a lot... Following that, I have come to peace with the fact that I might go bald, and I might not like it, and rando hairpiece-haters around me won't stop me from going all 18th century on my new hairpiece.

My first own house was in the middle of a lot of cultures that are different from my own, and man did those folks LOVE changing their hair every few days, with pieces or otherwise. Every second shop was selling surrogate hair, and it looked very cool. I think that part of those cultures is fucking rad, and it inspired me to pre-emptively accept my own future toupee, if it ever comes to that.
